Summary

The Product Development Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of Hamrick’s, Inc. apparel product development process for assigned categories. This role drives seasonal development calendars, partners closely with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams, and works directly with vendors to ensure apparel products are developed on time, within cost, and in alignment with Hamrick’s quality and value standards.

Responsibilities
  • Own product development execution for assigned apparel categories from initial concept through production readiness.

  • Manage seasonal development calendars, ensuring all milestones (samples, fit approvals, costing, testing) are met.

  • Review and approve samples for construction, workmanship, and adherence to specifications.

  • Coordinate and participate in fit sessions; track fit comments and approvals.

  • Proactively follow up with vendors to resolve issues related to sampling, costing, or timelines.

  • Collaborate with Sourcing and Merchandising to meet margin, quality, and delivery objectives.

  • Review initial and revised costings to ensure products align with pricing and margin targets.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information in PLM systems and internal databases.

  • Support purchase order accuracy, changes, and approvals.

  • Ensure products meet Hamrick’s quality, labeling, packaging, and compliance standards.

  • Coordinate testing and quality assurance requirements as needed.

  • Identify and escalate potential quality or production risks early.

  • Identify opportunities to improve development processes and efficiencies.

  • Provide guidance and support to entry-level coordinators or assistants as needed.

  • Support seasonal line reviews, milestone meetings, and management reporting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Design, Textile Science, or related field preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience in apparel product development, sourcing, or merchandising.

  • Strong experience with private-label or exclusive apparel programs preferred.

  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and fit.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with noted attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to handle garment samples and participate in fit reviews.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Extended periods of computer-based work.
