Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Product Development & Design Manager to lead the end-to-end development of retail apparel products, from concept through production. This role partners closely with design, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure products meet brand standards, cost targets, and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead apparel product development from initial design concepts to production readiness

  • Collaborate with designers, technical design, sourcing, and manufacturing partners

  • Oversee fabric selection, trims, color development, and fit approvals

  • Manage timelines, costing, and production feasibility

  • Ensure designs align with brand identity, margin goals, and customer needs

  • Coordinate sample development, fittings, revisions, and approvals

  • Support vendor communication (domestic and overseas)

  • Troubleshoot production and design issues proactively

Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of apparel product development and/or design experience

  • Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes

  • Experience working with factories and vendors

  • Understanding of fabric performance, construction, and garment fit

  • Proficiency with PLM systems; Adobe Illustrator experience preferred

  • Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills

Required Experience
  • Retail or private-label apparel background

  • Experience with mass-market or specialty retail

  • Knowledge of sourcing and cost engineering
